The 14-Day Reset Challenge: What Actually Happens When You Start Small

- 4 min read
Let me guess…
You’ve been meaning to “get your life together” for a while now.
But every time you try, it turns into an overwhelming spiral of:
“I should clean the whole house.”
“I should reorganize everything.”
“I should become a completely new person by Tuesday.”
And then…you do nothing. Because it’s too much.
Friend, come sit with me for a second.
We are not doing that anymore.

This is your official invitation into something softer, kinder, and way more doable:
A 14-Day Reset Challenge → Tiny tasks → Real-life expectations → No perfection required
We’re not overhauling your life. We’re creating relief.
Before We Start: The Only 3 Rules
1. Small counts. If you only half-finish a task? Still counts. If your toddler interrupts 17 times? Frustrating...but still counts. If you sit down halfway through and drink coffee? Deserved...and definitely counts.
2. No “all or nothing.” Miss a day? We keep going. No restarting. No shame spiral.
3. We’re chasing relief, not perfection. If it feels lighter → you’re doing it right.

Your 14-Day Reset Challenge Roadmap
Each day = about 10–20 minutes (Yes, really. We are keeping this realistic.)
DAY 1 |The Reset That Starts It All (Trash + Obvious Clutter)
We’re starting EASY.
Walk through your main living space and grab:
Trash
Broken things
Anything that clearly doesn’t belong
Don’t overthink it. If it’s obvious, it goes. No time for sentimentality. This is the fastest way to feel instant relief. We love an easy win.
DAY 2 |The Countertop Reset
Kitchen counters, bathroom counters, any flat surface that has become a landing zone.
Clear it → wipe it → put back only what belongs.
If everything ends up back on the counter…that’s feedback. And for this challenge, we're going to put that in our notes app and save it for later. You deserve surfaces that let you breathe.
DAY 3 |The “One Drawer” Rule
Pick ONE drawer. That’s it.
Dump it → sort it → put back only what makes sense.
Set a timer for 15 minutes so you don’t spiral. One drawer is not small. It’s momentum.
DAY 4 |The Laundry Reset (Gentle Version)
We are not conquering all laundry today.
Just:
• Fold one load
OR
• Put one pile away
Pair this with a show or podcast, and don't forget a glass of wine (or your drink of choice!) Make it cozy. Progress > perfection. Always.
DAY 5 |The “Things Without a Home” Sweep
Grab a basket.
Walk around and collect random items that don’t belong anywhere.
Then assign them a home (or let them go).
If something doesn’t have a home…that’s the problem, not you. You’re creating systems that support you.
DAY 6 |Bathroom Refresh
Quick wins only:
Toss empties
Wipe surfaces
Straighten products
Keep only what you actually use daily within reach. A clean bathroom hits different. You’ll see.
DAY 7 |Rest + Reset Reflection Day
No cleaning today.
Just ask:
What feels better?
What still feels heavy?
What surprised me?
Write it down (even one sentence) and reflect. You’re already doing more than you think.

DAY 8 |The Closet Mini Reset
Not your whole closet. Please don’t do that to yourself.
Just:
Remove 5–10 items you don’t wear
Donate or set aside
If you haven’t worn it and it annoys you…it can go. Your closet should feel like a “yes,” not a sigh.
DAY 9 |The Nightstand Reset
This one is underrated.
Clear it → wipe it → keep only essentials.
Think: what supports rest? You deserve a soft place to land at the end of the day.
DAY 10 |DigitalDeclutter Lite
Choose ONE:
• Delete a month's worth of photos (a day's worth if you're that girl!)
• Clear emails
• Organize apps
10 minutes max. No deep dives. Digital clutter = mental clutter. This matters.
DAY 11 |The “Catch-All Zone” Reset
You know the one.
The chair.
The corner.
The pile.
Tackle just that.
Don’t leave the zone. Stay focused. This one always feels bigger than it is.
DAY 12 |The Kitchen Reset (Mini Edition)
Focus on ONE area:
Fridge shelf
Pantry section
Utensil drawer
Toss expired items quickly. No guilt. Feeding your family should feel easier, not chaotic.
DAY 13 |The Entryway Reset
Shoes, bags, keys, chaos.
Simplify it.
Create a drop zone that actually works for your life. This changes how your whole day starts.
DAY 14 |The “Lighten Your Life” Sweep
Final day. Big energy.
Big energy tempts me to say "PURGE" but we're in our gentle era, so I'm saying "sweep"
Walk through your home and ask:
“What can I release?”
Then we're going to:
Donate
Toss
Relocate
Trust your gut. You are allowed to let things go.

After the 14 Day Reset Challenge… What Now?
Spoiler: You don’t become a new person.
After I did the challenge:
By day 3, the house didn’t magically transform, but my mind did.
By day 7, I caught myself smiling at a clean corner.
By day 10, I felt more peace in my home.
By day 14, I realized: this wasn’t about the decluttering.
Here’s the truth:
Your house won’t be perfect. Your systems won’t be flawless.
Life will still be…life.
But you will feel lighter.
More capable.
More in control in a gentle way.
And that? That’s everything.
A Little Note From Me to You
You don’t need to earn a peaceful home.
You don’t need to become someone else to live a simpler life.
You just need small steps.
Tiny resets.
And a little bit of support along the way.
I’m right here with you.
