The Power of Simple Systems: Why Less is More

Updated: Sep 13, 2025

We live in a world that loves to overcomplicate things. More apps. More steps. More “shoulds.” (DISCLAIMER: Ya girl has way too many apps on her phone, multiple planners, and can make things overcomplicated at times). But when it comes to creating a life that feels calm, intentional, and full of delight, I’ve learned that the secret isn’t more. It’s less. Period.

Simple systems have the power to bring freedom, not restriction. They aren’t about adding a million new habits or buying another planner that collects dust. They’re about creating rhythms that support you, not control you.

Think of it like this: a system is simply a repeatable way of doing something that frees your brain from decision overload. It’s the difference between standing in front of a messy closet every morning versus having a handful of favorite outfits that always make you feel good. One is draining; the other is delightfully freeing.

Declutter your to do list, simple routines

Why Less Is More

When we strip back the unnecessary, what’s left is clarity. Fewer moving parts means less stress, less decision fatigue, and more energy for the things that matter most. Your creativity, your people, your peace of mind.

  • A simple meal plan saves you from 6 PM panic.

  • A weekly reset routine keeps your space from spiraling.

  • A daily rhythm grounds you in the middle of chaos.

It’s not about creating the “perfect” system. It’s about choosing the right systems FOR YOU. The ones that support the way you actually live, not the way Pinterest says you should. Let me say that a little louder for the people in the back!

Simple systems, intentional living, simplify your life, less is more

So let’s start with some baby steps. Hold my hand and let’s take this one thing at a time. You ready?

How to Start Simplifying Your Systems

  1. Pick one area of life to simplify. (Don’t try to systemize everything at once. Baby steps, babe.)

  2. Ask yourself: “What feels heavy here?” The answer usually points to what needs a system.

  3. Create the simplest repeatable rhythm possible. No overthinking, just a light framework that gives you freedom.

  4. Test and tweak. Systems are meant to evolve with you.

A Gentle Reminder

Simplicity doesn’t mean stripping life of color or joy. That’s not how I’m about to live my life! It means clearing away what doesn’t matter so you can make room for what does. The less you’re tangled up in clutter, physical, digital, or mental, the more space you’ll have to create, connect, and live with intention.

My love, you don’t need a hundred new habits. You need a few simple systems that work for you. And trust me, less really is more.

Until next time, dears,

-Lauren
